Sort Through Your Things Before Packing
Most people will weed through their things while they’re packing things into boxes, but that just makes the process longer. Do a thorough cleaning of each room and decide what you want to sell or donate, so that way there are no interruptions while you’re packing. We tend to forget about our pantry goods when we’re preparing to move, so things that could spoil should either be eaten before you move, given to a neighbor or friend, or donated. Magazines for example can take up lots of space, so consider cutting out the articles that you want and recycle the rest.

Group Your Things Together
It’s obvious why you would pack like items in the same box, but also don’t forget to label your boxes on both the top and the side, so when they’re stacked, you will be able to know what’s inside. Also, labeling boxes not only with its contents but also with which room it goes in, and stacking the items for the same room together. When loading up the truck, make sure to put the larger items in first like a sofa, bed, or a large desk, then load medium-sized pieces of furniture like chairs and small end tables, and once you’ve loaded up your furniture, start stacking in boxes.
